RavenWyn is
a family passion!
We feel great privilege that we are able to share our love
for the Shetland Sheepdog not only with each other, but
with our children as well. At RavenWyn, our children
are a vital key to our successful puppy socialization
program. Another important element that sets us
apart from the majority of Sheltie breeders, is that we
keep our numbers low. This allows everyone to be a
"house dog". We feel this is a must in keeping happy and
healthy companions, plus allowing us to focus our
attention to each and every one of our dogs' needs.

Our Philosophy:
We strive
to only breed as close as possible to AKC standards, and to maintain a breeding
program which lowers the
incidence of breed orthopedic and genetic disorders. We are always evolving as Shetland
Sheepdog breeders, and have
great aspirations in positively contributing to this breed we
hold so dear to our hearts.
With constant ongoing breed genetic study and pedigree research, we are confident that our
breeding program will assist
in maintaining
the qualities that
coincide with that of today's reputable standards.

RavenWyn's
Beginning:
Corina
has over 25 years experience with canines in
general.
"My
grandmother, Hazel, exhibited and
bred Pomeranians
and Shih tzus for over
30 years.
She is and always will be my
foremost inspiration and mentor. So,
I thank her for sparking my interest and passion for
dogs and the sport of purebreds. I
only hope I can become 1/3rd as
knowledgeable and successful as she was."
"My
love and admiration for the Shetland Sheepdog started in July of
1988. That is when my grandmother, purchased my
first Shetland Sheepdog. Lilly, a gorgeous RoyDon pup
had every quality going for her, except her size. Lilly
sadly went off of the charts and only saw the conformation ring
as a puppy. Nonetheless, she never disappointed me in her
friendship and loyalty. This
girl had been with me through many rough
times, in
which she was my only support. At
13 ½ years,
Lilly
passed over the Rainbow Bridge due to liver complications.
So
in 2002, I diligently began searching for a show prospect to fuel my
desire to once again participate in conformation. I
found another bundle of love in a wonderful little bi-black female.
My
"Pepper Ann" is a blessing. She has taught me so much in a
short period of time. And, has ultimately made me more savvy
about the sport of purebred dogs."
Corina is currently a member of both the Tualatin Kennel Club and the
Pacific Northwest Shetland Sheepdog Club, in which she
previously held the 2007 Specialty Chair position and currently
holds the positions of 2008 Specialty Co-Chair, Board
Member and Corresponding Secretary. Both Corina
and Morgan are in good standing with the American
Kennel Club and United Kennel Club. Corina, along with her
children, actively competes in both AKC and UKC conformation
venues. Morgan enjoys staying home and playing with the
puppies. Our
home is nestled in a residential community approximately 45 minutes West of Portland, Oregon
with a gorgeous view of Mt. Hood. We welcome visits to our
home by appointment only. Thank you for stopping by and
we hope to hear from you soon! |
